Research

We undertake both academic and clinical research activity within our wider organisation. Growingly we work collaboratively across organisations and countries in research aimed at improving treatments and education in aesthetic medicine.

Clinical Research

At Interface Aesthetics we are proud to be an approved centre for clinical research.

We stand alone in the UK as an independent training provider with research centre status – an achievement that goes to the very essence of our reason for existence – improving standards in aesthetic medicine. As a research site, our team is actively involved in contributing to the evidence base in aesthetics, researching the efficacy and safety of new treatments, and exploring the frontiers of this still nascent field of clinical practice. At Interface Aesthetics we are proud to be an approved centre for clinical research.

Currently, our Director Mr James Olding is leading a randomised controlled trial in the use of injectables in the lower face, as part of a multi-national trial. Working collaboratively at an international level provides genuine academic enrichment for our institution, while simultaneously ensuring our Faculty remains on the forefront of advances in aesthetic medicine. In the current trial, Mr Olding is supported by Mr Felix Karst and Melissa Pugh INP from within the faculty, with a further 6 junior mentees carrying out key roles as part of their own research mentorship.

Research Opportunities

Spreading opportunities in research goes beyond just our Faculty and team. Research should be part of every healthcare professional’s education and training.

Making this a reality in aesthetics requires a multi-layered approach, from incorporation into entry-level mentorship through to providing opportunities for advanced injectors to present research at international events.

Through our pioneer events Interface Expo; Interface Expert, we bring together hundreds of people from across the globe each year to share original research in aesthetics. We have built a research infrastructure, including a research committee led by Dr Sarika Grover & Mr Felix Karst, drawing on expertise from across different professions and countries. If you are interested in finding out more about research opportunities or submitting an abstract, our next international congress will be Interface Expo, in London, November 2025.

As part of our holistic approach to mentorship, we have launched several stages of entry level mentorship following on from our pioneer scheme, the JTMS. The JTMS Enhanced scheme supports junior mentees through the formation of research collectives, under the guidance of senior mentors, with the objective of undertaking research leading to publication. Those mentees who demonstrate exceptional commitment and ability are further supported on to our EPIPHANY scheme, where they are mentored by our senior Faculty towards leadership roles in research and teaching.
