Our VTCT Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma (RPEL) represents the Gold Standard postgraduate qualification in injectables in the UK for practitioners with previous experience in aesthetic medicine.
The RPEL, of Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning, qualification is typically taken over a shorter timeframe, commonly between 3-12 months alongside other work or study commitments. The RPEL Level 7 consists in in-person theoretical and clinical assessments, and the review of a portfolio of patients treated independently in your practice as an injector.
Your eligibility for one of our RPEL pathways depends on the amount of previous experience you have with injectables.

The RPEL Level 7 provides existing practitioners with the option of future-proofing their careers in a rapidly changing regulatory landscape, with a shortened programme and the opportunity to join our growing alumni of injectors.
This pathway is focussed on supporting injectors to demonstrate their competencies through assessments and provision of a treatment portfolio. RPEL Level 7 delegates still get access to E-Interface, providing over 100 hours of e-learning content (consisting in 4K quality videos, lectures and patient treatments).
If you are able to demonstrate 3 years of experience and a portfolio of 80 cases, you may be eligible for our first RPEL option, consisting in in-person assessments and portfolio review, typically taking 3-6 months to complete.
If you are able to demonstrate 2 years of experience and a portfolio of 60 patients, you may be eligible for our second RPEL option, which alos requires coursework completion, and typically taking 6-12 months.

In an increasingly competitive market, employers are looking for accredited postgraduate training and verifiable clinical experience as an injector, which can be challenging to obtain outside of a formal mentorship scheme.
There is also the collegiate nature of being part of a formal mentorship scheme, with access to colleagues, and to a Faculty of expert trainers, providing genuine mentorship over months to years. In view of the current regulatory changes being considered by the UK Government, there is a clear move towards the adoption of a recognised educational standard that would permit injectors to practice with a license in the future.
The JCCP is currently leading this process, and Interface Aesthetics RPEL VTCT Level 7 Diploma is a JCCP-approved qualification, with academic accreditation. This strongly supports that idea of the Level 7 Diploma as an agreed educational standard that will be required for practice in the future.
You will access theoretical learning via our pioneer platform E-Interface flexibly, with the opportunity to revisit all content as frequently as required on a smart phone or home computer.
You will benefit from mentorship from a first-in-class faculty of injectors that are leading practice and research in medical aesthetics both in the UK and globally.
The RPEL Level 7 Diploma can be divided into 3 or 4 core components, depending on whether you are eligible for option one or two:
- Continued Theoretical Learning: Access to over 100 hours of 4K videos, tutorials, and treatment demonstrations, protocols and theoretical manuals and booklets
- Portfolio: Provide a patient portfolio (either 60 or 80 patients, depending on which RPEL option) for review.
- Examinations: A 3-hour invigilated and externally-set MCQ exam, and a filmed and externally-reviewed OSCE examination involving the treatment of a patient with botulinum toxin and dermal filler.
- Coursework: For those injectors pursing the option 2 RPEL, there is and additional Coursework stage. This consists in a Short Answer Question assignment and a Literature Review, with guidance and support of your mentors.

Under this expert guidance, you will treat patients from start to finish, through consultation, assessment, consent and technique execution. You will have the opportunity to receive 1-to-1 mentorship and directly-observed feedback on your performance, with time for case discussion and reflection as part of your mentorship days.

E-Interface is the e-learning platform for Interface Aesthetics delegates, boasting over 100 hours of 4k quality video content including clinical demonstrations, tutorials and discussions. As a Level 7 Mentee, you will gain access to this extensive hub of the latest evidence-based protocols, expert-led debates, core theoretical tuition by field-leaders, and practical demonstrations on a broad range of skills in aesthetic medicine. Level 7 Diploma Syllabus
As an OFQUAL-regulated, externally quality-assured qualification, the curriculum and learning outcomes for the Level 7 Diploma are externally set. Importantly, these align fully with the core themes of aesthetics practice that run through all Interface Aesthetics course.
There are externally set, externally verified assessments that healthcare professionals must pass as part of this qualification, and at Interface Aesthetics we have a track record of providing tailored support to all delegates through webinars, group study, individualised mentorship and exam preparation.
Eligibility
You must be a registered (GMC/GDC/NMC/HCPC) UK healthcare professional, or international equivalent, to enrol on the RPEL Level 7 Diploma.
This pathway is for practitioners with at least 3 years prior experience in injectables, who are also able to provide a treatment portfolio of at least 60 patients across toxin and filler).
