Why Train in Botox® & Dermal Filler

Why Train in Botox® & Dermal Filler

The aesthetic medicine industry in the UK has seen impressive rates of growth over the past decade. Botox® and dermal filler are in ever greater demand, and as we understand more about the ageing process, there is more that we are able to do to improve appearance and soften the signs of ageing without turning to surgical treatments.

Our Botox® and dermal filler courses have been developed to provide healthcare professionals with the aesthetic training that is necessary for them to become independent and confident aesthetic practitioners. Aesthetic treatments are overwhelmingly non-surgical, counting for around 90% of all such procedures; the most commonly provided non-surgical treatment being Botox ®, followed by dermal fillers.

This post-graduate level qualification is OFQUAL-regulated and was borne out of the growing recognition of the need to better regulate aesthetic training and the aesthetic industry as a whole. The Level 7 Certificate incorporates recommendations which came out of the Keogh report, which were subsequently proposed by HEE and the GMC. As such, it is rapidly becoming the Gold Standard qualification in medical aesthetics.

The qualification is composed of 4 main stages:

STAGE 1

Foundation course in Botox® and dermal filler. You will learn how to perform the most commonly requested injectable treatments. This CPD-accredited training day is hands-on, in small groups and with live models.

STAGE 2

Level 7 Modules – carry out self-directed learning with our level 7 learning materials. You will cover a broad range of material ranging from dermatology, to psychology and anatomy. Our dedicated team of Level 7 tutors will provide educational support throughout.

STAGE 3

Mentorship – build an aesthetic portfolio with 40 patient cases, divided between administering Botox ® and providing dermal filler treatments. All treatment is carried out under the direct supervision of one of our level 7 expert trainers

STAGE 4

Assessments in the format of Short Answer Question (SAQs) and a clinical OSCE, in addition to the submission if a treatment portfolio of 40 patients. Our team of experienced tutors will be on hand to ensure you are prepared for your assessments. The SAQs are submitted in the form of coursework, based on learning from the course study material as well as practical training on your mentorship days.

Upon completion of all components of the qualification, graduates will be eligible to join a register of approved aesthetic practitioners and will have enhanced experience, knowledge and employability in the aesthetics industry.
