The demand for Botox® injections has driven the extraordinary growth within the aesthetics industry over the past two decades. In the UK, over 90% of all cosmetic treatments are non-surgical, of which the most common treatment is Botox®. As Botox® grows in popularity among all demographic groups in society, the opportunities within the aesthetics industry for medical professionals with facial aesthetic skills continue to abound.
There are huge opportunities for experienced aesthetic practitioners in what is still an emerging market in the UK. Working within the aesthetics industry can be hugely rewarding both professionally and financially. Unique to working in medical aesthetics is the potential autonomy of practice as a healthcare professional. This is a significant advantage to working within a private healthcare sector, and many doctors, dentist and nurses who train on our Botox® courses enjoy careers in both the NHS and as private aesthetic practitioners. There is also the possibility to start a new career, building on the wealth of skills that healthcare professionals bring from previous practice to this exciting and dynamic area.
Health Education England (HEE) and the GMC published guidance based on the recommendations of the Keogh report, which was commissioned to look into the state of aesthetics in the UK. The lack of regulation within the aesthetics industry was a clear concern, and there have been moves to ensure non-surgical aesthetic treatments such as dermal filler are carried out by registered healthcare professionals such as doctors, dentists and nurses. The guidelines also recommend that dental hygienists, physiotherapists, ODPs and pharmacists be able to practise these treatments.
Botox® training has also come under the spotlight of both the GMC and HEE, with a drive to standardise teaching in order to drive up standards and protect patients. As healthcare professionals, such a move is to be welcomed, supporting the idea that only fully qualified and sufficiently trained practitioners should be able to administer Botox® injections.
Botox® training courses vary hugely in terms of the level of practical experience, hands-on training and quality of tuition provided. Safety is of paramount importance in all aspects of healthcare, and aesthetic medicine is no exception. As such it is crucial that Botox® training courses are designed to recreate clinical situations, providing hands-on experience with live models at training days. Practising injections on mannequins, or simply observing treatments in large groups, are not adequate or acceptable methods to become confident and competent as an injector. Practical sessions must be patient-focused, led by expert experienced tutors, and accredited and recognised by professional bodies and industry leaders. There is no substitute for practical experience with direct observation by expert trainers.
Interface Aesthetics has incorporated the elements necessary to meet the high standards set by the GMC and HEE in all of our aesthetics training. Our filler courses are surgeon-led, with a firm emphasis on safety and anatomy. We offer a complete menu of courses catering for beginners through to experienced practitioners.

The Foundation Course is the first step for any healthcare professional looking to start out in the aesthetic medicine field. This intensive, hands-on training course is designed to equip delegates to carry out the most commonly requested dermal filler treatments. Training in Botox® is delivered together with dermal filler teaching.
The Foundation Course consists of an opening session where theoretical material is covered, followed by a majority of the day injecting live model patients under direct observation of one of our expert trainers.
Following the course, you will have access to one of our expert trainers to discuss cases. This ensures you will have the support you need to move seamlessly into the aesthetics industry.
The Foundation Course is CPD accredited, providing a total of 8 CPD points. Upon completion, successful delegates will be awarded the Interface Aesthetics Foundation Diploma, which will enable them to obtain cosmetic insurance and to start practising straight away.
The Foundation Course can be taken as a stand-alone qualification, with the option of continuing on to complete the remaining stages of the regulated Level 7 Diploma at a later date.

Hands-on, small group training injecting live models using Botox® (forehead, brow and eye area) and dermal fillers (lip augmentation, nasolabial folds, marionette lines and cheekbones)
Delegates will cover the 8 core modules through self-directed study using our Level 7 study material. There is a large degree of flexibility in this stage, and study can be at a pace that fits with your other work and life commitments. The units covered are:
Unit 1: Principles of History, Ethics and Law in Aesthetic Medicine
Unit 2: Principles of Treatment in Aesthetic Medicine
Unit 3: Principles of Cosmetic Psychology in Aesthetic Medicine
Unit 4: Principles of Dermatology in Aesthetic Medicine
Unit 5: Principles of Botulinum Toxin Use in Aesthetic Medicine
Unit 6: Practice of Botulinum Toxin Use in Aesthetic Medicine
Unit 7: Principles of Dermal Filler Use in Aesthetic Medicine
Unit 8: Practice of Dermal Filler Use in Aesthetic Medicine
Delegates will undertake training days as part of the Level 7 Diploma Mentorship Programme. A total of 40 patients will be observed and treated with both Botox® and dermal filler, all under the supervision of one of our expert aesthetic trainers. In total, of the 40 patients, 20 must be treated with Botox®. Delegates will carry out full assessments and maintain clinical documentation and photography to build a treatment portfolio of cases. The treatment portfolio assembled will be submitted as part of the assessment for the award of the Level 7 Diploma.
Delegates will submit short answer questions based on the Level 7 learning material in the form of coursework, as well as sitting an OSCE as part of the final assessment for the award of the qualification. Examinations are externally sampled and marked, with successful candidates being awarded the Level 7 Diploma in Injectables upon completion of all stages.
Building on the techniques taught in the Foundation Course, the Advanced Course is the next step for aesthetic practitioners seeking to broaden their set of facial aesthetic techniques, perfect their facial assessment skills, and begin to undertake treatments in different ways, including using a cannula.
Botox® training at the Advanced level includes treatment of the lower face a neck, chemical brow lift, and jaw slimming/treatment for jaw clenching. The course is heavily focused on hands-on training, with introductory theoretical teaching followed by a day injecting live models, practising the advanced techniques.

We also offer bespoke, one-to-one training sessions for practitioners looking to progress more rapidly, or to focus on specific areas in accordance with the learner’s needs. These training sessions can be discussed on an individual basis with one of our expert aesthetic trainers.
